Many thanks to Joel and the band for helping to make our wedding day so special. We'd heard good things about Absolute Funk but the atmosphere they created certainly surpassed our expectations. Loads of our guests have commented on how good the band was and everybody was dancing - even those who have previously avoided dance floors like the plague! We'd recommend Absolute Funk to anyone who is looking for a lively band to entertain...you won't be disappointed!

We were lucky enough to watch and listen to Joel and Amy at the Great Victoria Hotel, Bradford on Valentines Day 2010, and, booked them to sing at our wedding ceremony at Woodlands Hotel, Leeds. Some of our guests (who had a restricted view in the ceremony room) believed the hotel had a crystal clear sound system and that we had 'burned' a CD, such was the clarity and precision of Joel and Amy. Joel and Amy brought a unique and personal touch to our day. Unfortunately we had to use the hotel DJ for our evening reception, otherwise, we would most definitely have had the entire band play for the night. We cannot recommend you highly enough and to anyone looking for musicians for their wedding or any big/small event-book these guys as you certainly won't be disappointed.!

When we were considering booking a band for our wedding our main concern was always would people get up and dance? Well, we shouldn't have had any worries with Absolute Funk Band as the dance floor was always full, the atmosphere brilliant and every song managed to bridge all generations present. The overall experience we had with the band from day one was positive. The lead singer Marcia was fantastic but much of the credit should also be given to the band who played seamlessly with the singer and delivered a top quality band experience. The band easily accommodated our first and last dance requests, with the last dance being up there alongside some of the best memories of our big day. Once again a big thank to Absolute Funk Band from the both of us and from our guests for a superb nights entertainment.

Despite not having a live horn section (which was my only concern as a sax player), the band were fantastic - they played a crowd-pleasing set filled with funk favourites old and new, and knew just how to work up the energy in the room. The space we had was fairly small, but the sound level was just right and almost everyone danced the whole way through their set, including some ad-libbed appearances on bass by the groom with backing vocals from the bridesmaids. Joel was a great frontman, and we had several comments afterwards about how tight and slick they were - they more than made up for the missing horns. There are loads of function bands out there, but Absolute Funk Band were definitely amongst the best I've seen and heard live. Highly recommended.
